Zadi is delivering daily videoblog updates from Belfast, Northern Ireland and Dublin, Ireland. She's over there as part of her participation in the Transatlantic Network 2020 program. She's been learning about the conflict between Catholics and Protestants and is working directly with people form the communities there. She posted a ton of photos to her Flickr account, as well.
Two more video updates embedded after the jump!

Hey peoples. I'm so excited - this is my first post on the Epic Fu blog! I'm Mike, and I'm one of the lucky editors for the show. When I'm not working on FU-related-stuff, I'm usually locked up in my bedroom writing and editing "For Thousands of Miles." Which is a film about traveling... and other stuff... check the 20 second teaser from it above!
More editing stuff after the jump!

I first found out about this video from Jay Smooth's twitter and fell in love with the smooth sound contrasted with the raw, honest video.
According to her website, Mishal Moore is based in South Florida (UPDATE: as per Mishal's comment, she's living in the tri-state area in the Northeast now, that's NY-NJ-CT for anyone who doesn't know). This indie singer has butter-smooth vocals that remind me of something between Erykah Badu and Ella Fitzgerald.
The first wave of voter registration deadlines sweeps a bunch of states on October 6th, so you might only have a few days left. Make sure you take a look at the election calendar here. In today's episode, Zadi mentioned a couple of online resources to make registration a relatively quick & painless process.
Declare Yourself produced an interesting set of PSA's called Only You Can Silence Yourself, featuring Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera, and other celebs. It's also a good resource for election info and absentee ballot requests. They are big proponents of early voting, which many states offer without requiring a valid excuse. I like this option, because it will protect you against any... umm "voting machine malfunctions."
The German graffiti artist DAIM doesn't just bomb walls -- he creates graphics, illustrations, commissions, and exhibits in galleries around the world. He started at 17 "...just going out and doing some stuff." After his parents and teachers found out he was doing graffiti art, they gave him a wall at a youth club and at school so that he wasn't getting into trouble with the authorities. It wasn't long after that that he was able to start using his spray can to make a living.

Zadi interviews Eric Steuer, Creative Director of Creative Commons
The web was built by people sharing content and information. Years ago if you saw something cool in a website's design, you'd view source, copy and paste, and tweak it to make it your own. It was exactly this collective pool of available knowledge that made the web grow quickly and exponentially. The same went for hip-hop music in its early days -- artists regularly sampled other artists like James Brown and Parliament Funkadelic.
The creators and artists who were sampled could benefit by being promoted, even if there was no monetary compensation. But at a certain point, content creators get understandably upset when others take their work without permission, potentially for profit. Unfortunately, the traditional copyright system fails to support the flexibility needed in the digital age where the sharing and proliferation of media is paramount. It's either Public Domain or All Rights Reserved. This is where Creative Commons comes in, offering a spectrum of licensing options for content creators.
About 8 months ago I blogged about a Twitter mashup called Politweets that tracked pre-nomination candidates across the twittersphere. Nowadays there are a couple of newer, better tools that I wanted to spotlight.
The first is Twitter's own Election page at http://election.twitter.com. It's a real-time stream of every tweet in the public timeline that mentions any of the candidates. It also has a brief collection of popular election tags (e.g. Tina Fey, Bailout) at the top of the page. You can also filter by candidate, so you can monitor the tweets only about Obama, McCain, or either of the VP candidates.
Wall Street is disintegrating before our very eyes, but at least Bil Murrary is in for Ghostbusters 3! Well not officially, but it looks promising. Apparently a few of the writers from The Office are doing the latest script re-write. If it's half as good as the original and only half as bad as the sequel, I think most fans will be satisfied.
On a related note, anyone else pumped about the new GB game supposedly coming out next month?
