Facebook Dipping! On the other side of the pond, The Telegraph reports that it's all the rage for British teenagers to find pools on Google Earth and throw ad hoc pool parties via Facebook. To avoid getting caught, the party-goers are told to dress up in costume and bring bikes to ensure a fast getaway. Trespassing is illegal in the UK as well as here in the States- not like we're condoning this kind of behavior or anything... but when have laws really held back kids from having fun?
The idea of pool hopping isn't entirely new, (hotel pool hopping, anyone?) but kids used to have to actually run around their neighborhood on foot to scope out the best pools. Now with Google Earth, they can do it from the comfort of their own home, spread the news with Facebook (they don't even have to dial a friend's number!) and make the event.... a splash. ;)
In Los Angeles, where the EPIC FU crew hangs out, pools are a dime a dozen. The real question is, exactly how many pools are there in England?

The ultimate Telegraph story! Evil lawbreaking teenagers, the evils of the internet (Facebook! Google Earth!) and good hardworking rich people having their homes invaded.
I'd bet one million pounds that this 'craze' was something the journalist thought up in the pub. If there's a real source (I note no link in the article) and if it actually happened more than once, at one location (in Bournemouth, at two pools, with 16 people, supposedly... a 'craze'??), then I'll eat my motherfucking hat.
Cool idea, though :)
